Cool season grasses are types of grass that thrive in cooler temperatures, typically growing best in the spring and fall when temperatures range from 60-75°F. These grasses are known for staying green in cooler climates and tend to go dormant or struggle during hot summer months.

Examples of Cool Season Grass Types: Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, Tall Fescue, Fine Fescue.

These grasses are commonly found in regions with colder winters and mild summers, making them ideal for northern climates.

Equipment You'll Need to Implement This Treatment Program

Backpack Sprayer – This is a battery-operated, cordless sprayer designed for ease and comfort.  This makes it ideal for spraying fertilizers, weed control products, and other treatments quickly and evenly.

Keep in mind there are plenty of backpack sprayer options available online that will work great for your lawn. 

Safety Gear:

  1. Safety Glasses – Protect your eyes from any accidental splashes or spray drift while applying products.
  2. Rubber Gloves – Essential for protecting your hands from chemicals or fertilizers during mixing and spraying.
  3. Shoe Covers or Rubber Boots – Keep your shoes or boots clean and protected from chemicals or overspray.
  4. Long Pants – Wear pants to protect your legs from contact with fertilizers and chemicals.
  5. Long-Sleeve Shirt – A long-sleeve shirt helps protect your arms from sprays and exposure to chemicals.
